WTOP news radio, the Washington Post, and other news outlets reported this week that the National Pinball Museum lost its lease and must vacate its Georgetown Mall space by mid-July. Museum founder and curator David Silverman stated that the museum would seek a new location.

The museum was busier than ever today, thanks in part to the extensive news coverage and to the museum's reduced entrance fee of only $3.00 (with kids under 9 free). The museum lowered its admission price to allow more people to visit the current facility. In an open letter on the National Pinball Museum web site, Silverman writes, "So come out and play until the flippers fall off!"

Extra Ball: Lease Extended Until September 5, 2011

June 30, 2011: The National Pinball Museum announced that they negotiated a lease extension to keep the Museum open until Labor Day. The reduced admission fee will continue through the summer. Annual passes will be honored at their new location (still to be determined) and will receive five free games on each visit.
